POLITICS AND ECONOMICS ARE INSEPARABLE

Any energy project at present may be considered as both economic
and political. Energy carriers play a most significant role
in global economy and the existence of society. Viewed as
essential natural resource, their mining, transportation and sale
are accompanied with important political and economic
processes. Nabucco gas pipeline project is regarded as such.

s political and economic position will considerably
increase with the construction of the pipeline
...Many are disappointed by hardening of position regarding
Iran nuclear problem, however it will have no effect on the
development of energy cooperation with Iran, since European
Union
,
s energy security is based on it. If possible, the EU, with
the exception of UK, might close eyes on Iran nuclear program.
As for Iran, Tavriz-Erzerum gas pipeline is not sufficient to
export gas in huge volumes and new gas pipelines will be built
from Iran to Turkey. Iran-Armenia gas pipeline may serve a
basis for one of them.
...Currently I find gas transformation from Iraqi Kurdistan via
Nabucco less realistic than Iran
,
s joining the gas pipeline. Iraq
and Turkey have a number of unsettled issues, which will delay
Iraq
,
s joining the gas pipeline soon.
...Russian-Azerbaijani agreements found keen information
response, however the two states have not agreed on the
main issue yet – how much Azerbaijani gas would be
exported to Russia. I am sure that small amount of natural
gas would be exported to Russia, the main volumes would
be directed to the West.
...The construction of Nabucco gas pipeline may hardly reflect
on Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and may affect Armenian-
Turkish relations only if we have regulated relations and opened
border. I think that opening of the border will enhance Armenia,s
role in energy processes of the region.
